I wasn't trying to build a company. I wasn't trying to write a book. I was trying to answer one question.

Slowly, what began as one family's crisis revealed itself as something much larger: one of healthcare's biggest failures, hiding in plain sight.

It is an investigation into why access keeps failing, told through the people who have lived it.
